Description

Description

Dive into a unique experience by booking our Free Street Food Tour in Lima, walking through the vibrant historic centre. Discover the magic of Peruvian gastronomy as you taste its most authentic flavours: chicha morada, anticuchos, churros, picarones and more (what you get to try will depend on the tour’s schedule). Regardless of the time of your walking tour, we’ll always do our best to make sure you enjoy unforgettable moments of Lima’s culinary delights.

As you stroll alongside your local guide, who will share fun and curious details about the treats you taste, you’ll also pass by major churches, colonial squares and historic streets, until reaching Lima’s iconic Chinatown, where the chifa fusion elevates every bite—a true feast of Limeño food with Chinese influence. Please note that visiting Chinatown depends on the tour schedule; we usually go there in the morning tours.

Don’t forget to bring some local cash for the delicious bites recommended by your guide. Of course, it’s not compulsory to try everything suggested—it’s all up to your appetite!

What will you try?

On this gastronomic walking tour through Lima’s historic centre, you’ll enjoy a unique experience where every bite tells a story. As you wander along streets steeped in tradition, each stop reveals how Peruvian cuisine has been shaped by the blending of pre-Hispanic, Spanish, African and Asian cultures.

The journey begins with a refreshing Chicha Morada, an ancestral drink made from purple corn that has grown in the Andes since pre-Columbian times. The Incas already used this corn in their ceremonies, and with the arrival of sugarcane and spices during the colonial era, the recipe evolved into the sweet, aromatic and colourful beverage that today you’ll find on almost every table in Lima.
