The Parque de la Reserva, inaugurated on 19th February 1929, is a traditional site that pays tribute to the brave souls <strong>who gave their lives in the defence of Lima during the Pacific War<\/strong>, when the city was captured by the Chilean army in 1881.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">During the conflict, this area of the capital was used as a military garrison. In the 20th century, as the capital underwent modernisation, construction of the park began in 1926, <strong>marking it as the largest urban project of the time<\/strong>.
